Values – Community
January 29, 2017
by Mission Church
God did not create people to be alone, but to commune with him, and to extend the nearness and care of his presence out to others. In so doing, we learn of the self-giving God. Our goal is to build up the community of the Church (that is both our specific community, and the broader church community), to positively impact the community of our city, and to extend community out into the world through the Gospel. True community is not at the surface level, but comes when we authentically engage with those different than us in a spirit of humility. Humility does not lack conviction, but rather exercises it without the demand for control, power, or self-righteousness.
Subvalues: Cultural Engagement, Authenticity, Unity and Diversity, Humility.
